About Jeremy

Jeremy grew up in Minnesota, idolizing the late senator Paul Wellstone and his fiery brand of progressive politics. He knew early on that Washington was in his future.

Jeremy has over 15 years’ experience in Congress and the executive branch, including serving as the Legislative Director for two U.S. Senators, Deputy Chief of Staff for a first-term Congressman and Senior Professional Staff on the House Agriculture Committee.

In Congress, he built from scratch a legislative plan for a new Senate office; hired and managed a 14-person policy staff; helped a vulnerable first-term Congressman build a legislative record on renewable energy, veterans’ health care, and sustainable agriculture; and helped important anti-animal fighting legislation become law.

As Deputy Director of Congressional Affairs at the Department of the Interior, Jeremy helped Secretary Sally Jewell implement her public lands agenda and commemorate the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service; defended the Department’s landmark Indian tribe recognition reforms from attack by Congress; and built support among lawmakers for the Obama Administration’s groundbreaking National Strategy for Combating Wildlife Trafficking.

And as Director of External Affairs at a small nonprofit watchdog group, he helped take on Washington’s most powerful industry groups and defend Wall Street reform.

Jeremy and his wife Amber live in Washington's Petworth neighborhood with their adorable dog, Melly.
